AARON LORINCZ WINS 2ND TITLE AT 5 STAR LANES

Aaron Lorincz picked the right time to get hot as he roared through the four game
stepladder finals to win his second Budweiser Michigan Majors title at Five Star Lanes.
Matt Anderson paced the 45 entries with a 1413 score.  He then rolled games of 268-248-
189 in the three game semi-finals to lap the field by almost 200 pins.
Lorincz started the stepladder final with a 248-214 win over a Michigan Major Hall of
Famer, Ken Wyatt.
Terry Haines started slowly in the next match, which was not a good idea against Lorincz,
before closing with six strikes. It was too little too late, as Lorincz started with 8 strikes for a
268-228 win.
Corey Miller never did get untracked in the semi-final match. Lorincz started this game
with 7 strikes and coasted in with a 267-168 win.
Lorincz started the championship match with 7 strikes again. Anderson trailed by only 10
pins as he countered with a spare, 6 in a row. Anderson fell apart with a split, open in his 8
– 9 frames. Lorincz won 258-223 for his 2nd title.
Lorincz said, “this makes up for when I bowled poorly in the finals at Plaza earlier this
year.” “ I was happy to see the fresh pair of lanes. I struggled in the semi-final just to hang
onto 5th place. Everything just clicked in the finals.”
The Michigan Majors will take a break for the summer. The next tournament will be held
on August 20 at Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc.
